U-Rock® Radio Network · Local stations

Run a U-Rock® radio station in your city.

We provide the broadcast infrastructure, streaming, programming tools and your own station page. You bring your city.

Our story

Independent radio, built for local places.

U-Rock® Network is an independent broadcast network with a simple idea: the people who live in a place understand it well.

Where it started

Founded by John Kevin Timothy, an independent broadcaster, U-Rock® began as an independent internet radio station.

Independent heritage

The network has stayed independent, growing into working infrastructure for independent music and local radio.

The idea behind it

Let local play lead. Stations discover artists in their own markets, and the network carries what they find further.

Why local stations matter

Every city has its own venues, voices and stories. A local station gives them a home, and the network gives them reach.

Our mission is still the same: give independent artists and local scenes a place to be heard.

Bring it to your market

Everything your market needs to get on the air and grow.

Built and maintained by the network, so you can spend your time on your city, your shows and your listeners.

Broadcast

Get on the air and stay there.

Broadcast infrastructure and streaming

We run the servers and the stream so your station reaches listeners on phones, computers and smart speakers. We keep it running.

Going live from a browser

Open a browser and go on the air. Host a live show from wherever you are, with no studio rack required.

Programming tools

Build your schedule, line up shows and music, and keep your station sounding polished, even when you step away.

Your own station page and player

A page with your name and your city, with a player built in, ready to share with your community.

Instant publishing

Stories, events and artist spotlights can go straight to your station page and the network feed once approved.

Shows that travel

Share your shows with other stations in the network, and bring network shows into your own lineup.

Local business experience

Connect your station with the businesses around you.

Tools for working with local businesses

Bring venues, shops and neighborhood businesses onto your station, with tools built for working with them.

Marketing resources

Ready-made resources help you tell your community what your station is about and who it serves.

Event coverage and community promotion

Cover local shows and happenings, and share them on your station page and the network feed.

A network marketplace

List services and trade programming with other affiliates across the network.

Artists and your scene

Be the place your local artists turn to.

Artist discovery and submissions

Independent artists can find your station and send in music, and you can discover new voices from your area.

Welcome local artists

Review local artists, bring them into rotation, and help the next band in your scene get heard.

Automatic artist spotlights

When you accept an artist, a spotlight story can be created for them automatically.

U-Rock.today

The network’s weekly zine features spotlights, scene reports and new music from stations like yours.

Support and identity

You are never running it alone.

Support and the operator handbook

A handbook written for operators and a team to turn to when you get stuck. We walk you through it.

Your own identity and call sign

Your station keeps its name, its sound and its call sign. U-Rock® stands behind you. It does not replace you.

Your own territory

An approved territory for your market, agreed when you are accepted.

Reporting and analytics

See who is listening and what they enjoy, so you can make clear choices about your schedule.
